In the House
The burglar alarm is activated when you first move in. Make sure to disarm it immediately after entry by entering the number provided.
Toys and books are available on request. Please always cover the sand pit after use.
Budi (8469899) takes care of the lawn. It is the tenant’s responsibility to water the lawn. The hose is located on the south side of the house.
We provide you with either full or partly filled gas bottles. You can refill them at any LPG filling station. The closest is at BP Portage Road & Clark Street, New Lynn. If you are renting the property for 28 days or less, we will reimburse you, but if your tenancy exceeds 28 days you will have to pay for the refill.
There are two hammocks in the storage accessible from the south-facing wall. The storage is accessible by a padlock. Contact us to get the number code.
Connectivity issues can usually be resolved by disconnecting the power cable from the modem and reconnecting it after 10 seconds. The modem is located in Te Koru 1. Call Lili if you are in te Koru 2.
As our washing machine is a front loader please use low-suds detergents only. It is not permitted to dry your laundry inside. Please use the deck or use the Mount Albert Village Laundry nearby on 63 New Windsor Road (250m distance from Te Koru).
Linen & Towels
There are towels, bed sheets, duvet and pillow covers in the cabinet. Please do not remove the mattress and pillow protectors. These waterproof, breathable protectors protect mattress and pillow from bacteria, dust mites, liquids, and stains.
Manuals for the washing machine, stereo, tv, etc. are available in the cabinet.
The bin with the blue lid is for paper, glass and plastic bottles and cans. Everything else goes into the bin with the red lid. The bins are emptied on Friday mornings.
The storage is behind the bathroom and accessible from outside by a key-coded padlock. There are gardening and other tools, and it’s there where the hot water tank and the solar panel pump is located.
Local calls are free. For international and long distance calls please use one of the many and cheap telephone cards, for instance the KiwiCall card. The Te Koru telephone number is +64-9-8205209.
The solar hot water system has an electric booster as a backup system which kicks in on rainy days or when there is high demand. The booster will only operate twice a day – in the morning and during the later afternoon hours. Therefore it is happens occasionally –usually on cold winter days and at times of high demand – that the water temperature drops during the afternoon.

Tenants are responsible for proper disposal of all rubbish.
1. Blue-lid bin
We have two blue-lid rubbish bins for recyclables (see following page), which are emptied every second Friday morning.
2. Red-lid bin
We have only one red-lid rubbish bin for everything else.
3. Rubbish Bags
In the kitchen drawer are a few large rubbish bags which are intended only for non-recyclable and non-organic waste that does not fit into the red-lid bin. Please try to put any excess rubbish into the containers of the neighbours (this is totally legal once the containers are at curb-side). Any remaining excess non-organic and non-recyclable rubbish may be disposed in tightly closed plastic bags which should be deposited in the bin behind the garden hose. Budi, our gardener, will take are of the excess rubbish.
